Carrot Moong dal poriyal











Ingredients
Carrot - 2 cups
Moong dal - 1/3 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 Spring
Oil - 1 tblsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Red chilly - 2
Salt

Preparation
Soak moong dal in water for 15 min. Heat oil in pan and temper with mustard, red chilly and curry leaves.
Add carrot, turmeric powder, salt and water. Close pan and cook. When water is almost reduced add moong dal and mix well. Close pan and cook until all done. Mix well in between.

Note
Dont add dal and carrot at same time. If dal is over cooked it will get mashed and poriyal will end in kootu.
