Yam Fry











Ingredients
Yam - 200 gms
Home made sambar powder - 1 tblsp heaped
Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Oil
Salt

Preparation
1. Clean and cut yam to big slices. Neither too thick nor too thin. Wash again and add water and turmeric powder. Pressure cook for 5 to 6 whistle(Induction base cooker).
2. Mix Chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt , hing, 1tblsp of water and lemon juice. Spread over each piece and set aside for 15 min and then fry on hot tawa. Spread oil on sides, flip and cook until both sides turn golden brown in color.

Note
1. Either add tamarind extract or lemon juice as few yam might cause irritation in throat at times.
2. Hing is must.
